During a recent episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, Teddi revealed that her dad is already making plans for her burial in the family mausoleum in Indiana, a conversation that took a heavy emotional toll.

Mellencamp, 43, recounted how her father repeatedly called her to discuss her final arrangements. “Finally, I answer, I’m like, ‘I’m in the bath. Let me live a little,'” she said, recalling how her father broached the sensitive topic. John Mellencamp asked her if she would be in the family mausoleum, an inquiry that took Mellencamp by surprise.

Making Space for the Family

During their conversation, Mellencamp questioned whether there would be space for her three children—Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5 within the mausoleum. Her father reassured her that there would be room for the top five family members, with additional space allocated for others. Teddi humorously added that she had been working on her will and that she should include her burial plans as well.

A Visit to Indiana

Despite the heavy subject, Teddi lightened the moment by joking that her tombstone would read, “Hot girls never die.” She also told her co-host, Tamra Judge, that she planned to visit the family burial site in Indiana soon to see the arrangements firsthand.

Teddi’s health journey has been tumultuous. Diagnosed with skin cancer in 2022, her situation took a turn when doctors discovered brain tumors in February. She underwent surgery to remove four tumors, which were believed to have been growing for several months. Since then, Teddi has faced additional tumors in her brain and lungs.

The Fight for Life and Family

In a March Instagram post, Teddi shared her emotional struggle, explaining that the tumors were a direct result of her melanoma. “I’m fighting for my life, but also for my family’s life and all the people I love,” she told Us Weekly in a recent interview. She admitted that battling cancer is the hardest challenge she’s ever faced, but she remains determined to stay strong for her loved ones.
